
Lianne van Boxel

Lianne van Boxel is a BMM-certified (Benelux) and registered European Trademark and Design Attorney. As Senior Associate IP Consultant, she advises national and international companies on the protection of IP rights, including trademarks, designs, copyright and trade names.
Currently, Lianne works in the corporate team at Novagraaf Netherlands, where she specialises in the strategic management of global IP portfolios and conflict resolution. In addition, she is regularly involved in conducting trademark availability searches.
Career history
Lianne studied Private Law, specialising in Intellectual Property, at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and began her professional career in 2007. In 2009, she completed the Professional Training Programme for Benelux Trade Mark and Design Attorneys (BBMM), qualifying her as a Benelux-certified Trademark and Design Attorney. She is also a registered European Trademark and Design Attorney.
Lianne has been working at Novagraaf since February 2017. Prior to this, she worked at another trademark firm in Amsterdam, where she gained extensive experience advising (inter)national clients across various segments (SMEs, mid-sized companies and multinationals) and across a wide range of industries.
Work highlights
Lianne’s day-to-day activities include advising on trademark availability and registrability, filing strategies, conflict resolution, negotiating in cases of infringement, conducting and advising on opposition and invalidity proceedings, drafting and preparing agreements (including co-existence agreements and licence agreements), and the strategic and efficient management of international IP portfolios.
Memberships
Lianne is a member of the Benelux Association for Trade Mark and Design Law (BMM). She is actively involved in the association and serves on the Programme Committee. BMM certification is a recognised hallmark of excellence for trademark attorneys in the Benelux.
