Matteo Mariano joined Novagraaf Belgium in 2025, bringing with him over eight years of experience as an IP litigator in international and European IP law firms. Matteo has particular expertise in defending the registration and validity of trademarks and designs, and in helping clients to build strong brands from conception.
Career history
After graduating from the Université Saint-Louis Bruxelles and Universiteit Gent, Matteo pursued an LL.M. at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, in Philadelphia (USA). He then joined the Brussels bar as an IP litigator, where he practiced in international and European specialised IP teams.

Matteo’s work spans across a variety of industries, as he likes to learning about the client’s business to provide tailored IP strategy services. Matteo regularly contributes to professional and scholar publications on IP matters, writing in French, Dutch and English.
